Fiona holds a B.A. in History & Psychology from U.C.C. and a Graduate Diploma in Rural Tourism from D.I.T. She has a passion for redevelopment of rural areas through use of their natural resources. After completeing her studies she worked with a community group in Killucan, Co. Westmeath carrying out market research on a canal barge restoration project. She has also worked as Project Manager with the Dublin Heritage Group on their Vernacular Architecture Project for 2 years.
Gillian brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to Grand Canal Adventures, having been a P.A. for over 30 years she has exemplary organisational and secretarial skills. She is a committed community development advocate for Daingean town and has been involved in numerous projects to benefit the local area including the development of a popular Heritage Trail. Gillian is also an active member of Offaly Tourism Network.
Padraig has vast experience in the Community & Voluntary Sector. He works for one of the country’s leading charities as a Development Manager. He is Chairperson of Youth Work Ireland Midlands and is an active member of Midlands Regional Youth Club Executive, and the Mount Lucas Wind Farm Community Gains Scheme. Previously Padraig chaired Daingean Youth Club's Executive committee and was a non-executive director of Molesworth Bridge Playground Ltd.
Kieran is the Managing Director of Castle Barna Golf Club, one of the most popular golf clubs in the Midlands. He is an astute business person with experience in organising competitions, promotions and marketing events in the Sports Tourism industry. Kieran is actively involved with the Daingean Homecoming Festival as a committee member and has helped to grow this much loved annual celebration into the successful event it has become. Kieran is also a member of the Offaly Tourism Network.

Grand Canal Adventures is run by a dedicated staff team with a wealth of experience in the sports and tourism industry. Their work is overseen by an experienced Management Committee made up of local people with backgrounds in Sports, Tourism, Business, & Community Development.
Brendan holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Health, Safety and Environmental Management. He has a varied background in the both the Public and Private sectors. His experience includes over thirty years work with the Dept of Justice including a period with the United Nations. He is also a founding director of Polarice Ltd, Ireland’s largest manufacturer of solid carbon Dioxide (dry ice).

Pat is a retired electrician who lives along the Canal Line in Daingean. He specialised in safety training with “Power Efficiently”. He is keen gardener and has a wealth of knowledge on the flora and fauna of the canal. His particular interest is to see the Grand Canal developed to its full potential.
